The design of the container looks really good with my existing matte coffee items. I put my coffee beans in there and the lid is airtight keeping my beans fresh and fragrant. I bought the medium size because I thought the large would look awkward with those tall and skinny measurements (so glad I did!). Some reviews reported that it was hard to clean/dry between the black plastic and the glass. But I was able to easily remove the black plastic part from the glass part to give both pieces a thorough wash and dry.
